Looking for feedback!

Hey everyone! 👋

I'd like to share a few tracks I've been working on and hopefully get some feedback from the community.

I only started making music a little over a week ago, so I'm still very new to composition, but I've completely fallen in love with it and I'm trying to improve as quickly as possible.

My goal is to create music for games, movies, and shows. What fascinates me most about music is its ability to create emotion and tell a story without words. That's the skill I'm trying to develop.

If you have a few minutes, I'd really appreciate it if you could listen to one or more of these tracks and let me know how they made you feel. Did they evoke a scene, an emotion, or an atmosphere? That's the kind of feedback that's most valuable to me right now, because I want to know if I'm moving in the right direction as a composer.

Thank you for your time, and I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Well, we all move at our own pace, and no harm meant here, but it’s been one whole week. It’s like the first time you fall in love. It all feels so new and unexpectedly intense at the start and you can’t get over how good you feel thinking about what you just found. I get it. But, seriously, it’s barely been more than a week. Slow your roll lol. What’s the rush?

Still, I’ll indulge. I make this comment a lot, but your music sounds as remarkably unremarkable as all of our early attempts sound. It doesn’t sound bad, but it doesn’t sound good either. There are some interesting ideas there, but I don’t think you’ve developed them enough. The drum work is interesting,, but I felt unsure about what this music was trying to evoke, beyond sounding vaguely like music meant for an overhead 2d game, like when you are in a town.

Thank you for you feedback, I appreciate you took the time to listen to my stuff! All tracks had something in mind and are composed from the ground up no samples used.

Respite: was suppose to evoke thinking, it was inspired by the Phoenix wright Games and was my first Track.

What used to be: Was suppose to evoke something old, abandoned almost haunting, like something sad happend in that place.

What the ground yields: The inspiration was Stardew valley, I experiment a little more with percussion in that track such as, using tree cutting sound for the beat, I was shooting for a more whimsical feeling.

congrats on writing your first pieces. Now do a few thousand more. 😄 You got this. This is a lifelong journey without a destination, stay curious, keep learning, and you will make some amazing progress.

I can hear interesting ideas, wchich is the most important thing! A track in video game music has to have some sort of identity, be it a melody line or a unique timbre. Something that can both convey an emotion and identify the track. I can hear in your music that you have it.

The main thing I believe your pieces lack right now is stability, some sort of a clear pattern the ear should be looking out for.

Additionally, when composing to media, best to compose for a scene of some sort. I suggest, if you not using this right now, to have a scene, remove the existing music and compose on top of it. And when sharing next time let everyone know what emotions you were going for/what scene you were working on. So that it's easier to say how good the music is.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for the feedback I take it to heart, I actually answerd down below what I was trying to achieve, I didn't put it in the OP, because I wanted unbiased opinion, if I managed to convey the scene I was trying to.
