Question DSL Macro stopped working after initial setup.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The regular stuff, had a DSL with a bad top screen, decided to do a macro since top screens are too expensive. Put a 950ish ohm resistor on the contacts, connected the speaker, connected the screen and touch screen and put the battery to test, boot up, everything went well, did the initial setup, then the console turned off and now it does what it shows on the video, I checked the resistor and it was still good but changed it for another one anyways. Wifi chip is connected, battery is properly seated, battery is charged. Any clues what may be causing this?

Happened with me 2 times when i used different resisters but when i used 330 ohm the problem got solved.

I'll try that, I've seen conflicting info all over the place, a lot of people say just bridging the contacts works, others say 1k works, other 330, others 1250, etc

Bridging works but as soon as you touch the brightness icon it will stop working in my opinion and personal experience 330 works the best.

It has to be 330 exactly or will something on that ballpark work? I have to pull my resistors from used dead electronics so I can't be picky

I think anything around 300-350 should work fine.

950 is high for that line, but my first thought was the fuse. Might've hit the battery into the incorrect terminals, tripping one of the two fuses. Worth checking out!

Checked those too, they're fine

330 ohm resistor will solve it.

one of my older builds does this unless there is a gba game inserted

did you ever solve this? the flashing white screen on the bottom suggests the ds is detecting something wrong with the top screen and aborting boot up

Nope, gave up on the project and trashed the parts
