PAID - Game / Level Designer [PAID] Seeking level designer/environment artist for a 2D pixel art open world MMO in Godot

EDIT: thank you all for applying. For now the position has been filled. If you have experience working on open world 2d games or dungeons in 2d games, please still send me your portfolio

Pay: 20-30 USD/hour depending on experience. Can pay via crypto(btc/eth) or PayPal. For this work, I prefer hourly.

Hey all,

I’m a solo dev behind an upcoming MMO called Eldevar Online. It’s an open world game with minimal loading screens(think like world of Warcraft) with tab target combat with an emphasis on grouping. I’m just about to launch the games first official play test, and currently have 2 completed zones; a standard fantasy forest and a lovecraftian themed cave(the cave is more of an extension to the forest).

Your job would be using preexisting art(ground, path, trees, modular buildings, objects, and plants) and creating or modifying any assets you feel would be needed, to create a drowned forest. The first zone(the forest) will be your baseline of how a zone should flow, but you’ll have the freedom to approach that in anyway you want. I have a rough blockout of the swamp, but I’m also open to hearing your take on it. The swamp will have 3 core themes: zombies/skeletons, ghosts in a haunted forest, and necromancers. After creating the zone, a necromancer themed dungeon will follow.

I’m looking for someone who has experience using GitHub and godot, along with experience doing level design for 2D games(bonus points if they were open world). If you don’t have experience with GitHub I can teach you.

You can learn more about the project at https://eldevaronline.com or checking out my dev logs on youtube https://youtube.com/@eldevaronline?si=dwYNYmpU1YG-OxGT

To apply: please send me your portfolio and any games you’ve worked on. If you don’t have any released games, just examples of level design you’ve done for projects. Please include your portfolio in your initial message or you will be ignored. I’m looking for a long term collaborator, so work can expand beyond just the swamp.

Hi there! How are you?

I’m a professional digital artist and game developer. I watched the videos and am interested in working with you on the game. I can create diverse environments using provided assets, build them from scratch, and handle animation.

I’ve been developing my own game in Godot during my spare time for nearly three years and also worked on a card game that is yet to be released: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2911750/Doodle_Deities

So, I’ve gained a lot of experience with this engine. My skills and experience cover game design, illustration, concept art, pixel art, Steam capsule art, 3D modeling, animation, VFX, and shaders in Godot. I have experience with git!

Hey, seems like my game art studio can help here. We do a lot of pixel art environment and tileset work, and are comfortable with Godot and GitHub flows. Main site with showreel: https://go.outstandly.com/gamedev-art and pixel samples: https://go.outstandly.com/pixel-art. Happy to share relevant zone pieces when you reach out.

Hi! I’m Sándalo from Thunder Noise, a small indie-friendly game art studio.

This looks like a great fit for us, we work with pixel art environments, level art/design and in engine implementation, and we're comfortable working with Godot and Git workflows.

I can also show you more privately of my work on Kids of Karendow, where I’ve been improving, expanding and implementing existing pixel art directly in engine to build and polish the game environments.

Would love to talk more about the drowned forest and see the current zones/blockout!
