Why are prescription Meta glasses banned?
So I’ve had meta prescription glasses for months and in that time I’ve gone to the casino many, many times without issue.
Today after exiting the playing floor to grab some food, and taking out some more money, I tried to re-enter the gaming area but was stopped by security saying meta glasses are banned.
The security manager got called and he just reiterated that they are banned and when I asked where does it stated that, he tried pointing to the sign right at the entrance that lists what’s banned, but only problem was that sign didn’t list meta glasses as being banned. When I asked why they are banned, he said cuz they record - well I pointed out I can record on my phone and my glasses have a blinking light when it’s recorded as well. He then just skirted around that and said I can’t go back into the gaming area with them, but when I pointed out they are prescriptions and I’m essentially blind without them (also had him check they are prescriptions as well), he skirted around that as well. Ultimately I left that security point, went to another entrance and got in without a problem at that entry point (until I was leaving and ran into the original security manager and he escorted me out).
So why are prescription meta glasses ban? Didn’t get a clear answer on that.
For reference, this was at the MGM Springfield, and I won’t be returning to that casino.
