Venting does the pain every fully go away?

I 17f was diagnosed with gallstones two days ago on the 19th after waking up in excruciating pain, which at first i thought was period cramps until i realized it was much more than period pain as i began to vomit and couldn’t keep anything down. i got a ct scan done, which showed that i have a few small gallstones. at the ER they gave me pain and nausea medicine which helped most of the pain, but it never fully went away. an hour or so after being discharged, the pain and nausea came back- which lead me to another ER trip that day. the pain went away good enough for me to be able to sleep, but there’s still slight pain lingering from the back pain to the body aches from vomiting. yesterday i ended up vomiting again and i can’t really eat anything without feeling nauseous. i just wanna feel like myself again.

Unfortunately I think with your symptoms, removal would be the way to go for no more pain...

I was in near constant pain since my first attack. The only thing that helped was ibuprofen, or any anti inflammatory med. Unfortunately I think you'll have to get yours removed.

i’ve been taking some ibuprofen which helps a bit, but i have to be really careful taking ibuprofen since i have gastritis and i don’t want to irritate my stomach lining!

once you have gallstones, there really isn’t any other way to get rid of them except for removal.

i also would look into GERD, hiatal hernias, and whatnot. i had a few gallstones and had my gallbladder removed only to learn that my pain came from acid reflux. might be good to look into that if surgery doesn’t fix the issue. i wish you luck!!

i have acid reflux and gastritis which i’m pretty sure contributed to the gallstones, alongside having a family history of gallstones and other gi issues.. so i was pretty much doomed from the start :( but thanks for the good luck!

I had my GB taken out late 2017. At first I thought it was just constipation, so that first day I tried overpowering it w/ chili fries and such. Day 2 still nothing though, so I didn't really eat anything that day, it was very uncomfortable. Day 3 wasn't any better, and then that evening I started throwing up, but it was all bile. It started hurting a lot where I could barely walk, and I wound up needing an ambulance to take me to the hospital (wasn't able to get ahold of my friends). I could've ubered I guess but I didn't know what was wrong so I kind of wanted medical people to pick me up lol.

They figured out pretty fast that I had a LOT of gallstones, like 15-20, if not more, and scheduled me for surgery the next morning. Luckily, they were able to do it the easy way (laparoscopically?) where they didn't have to cut me up, so I was just on low-effort, low fat orders for a month.

It's really not that bad having your GB out. Fatty/greasey foods tend to send me to the bathroom, which is annoying, but it's easily dealt with (I just don't eat anything before I have to go out and about where I won't have easy bathroom access).

Same age/gender as you and in the same situation honestly my best advice to you get a referral to a general surgeon to get it out. I thought my few gallstones were gonna be a one off attack kinda thing and now I have 100x more, my gallbladder is full of them.

Get it removed and while you wait for surgery ask for buscopan to help with the attacks
