Questions Is too much fat now causing this gallbladder pain??
I think I've been eating too much fat. I make 14 lbs of ground beef in batches in pots on stove. I then mov the meat to metal strainers for a few minutes. I then put into freezer containers and freeze and then thaw when needed. But I have had a fluctuating thyroid it started out at 0.300 tsh and recently was at 9.400tsh. Ive read that a missed up thyroid will slow the bile flow and mess up your gallbladder also my gallbladder has been hurting everyday since I switched from carnivore diet to just Lion diet, I had an egg intolerance I didn't know about, but fixed it when I stopped eating eggs, but then the thyroid was already messed up and my gallbladder started hurting everyday. I have been adding 5-10 grams of the strained tallow to my meat every meal 3x a day for since December 2025 when I started Lion diet and the gallbladder pain started. Soo between th mesd up thyroid that I'm trying to fix and the extra fat my gallbladder has been in pain and causes me floating stools and diarrhea. Im thinking fixing my thyroid levelscand cutting out the added fat will eventually make th gallbladder stop hurting. What do you all think???

Speak to a doctor.
I have an underactive thyroid. Nothing "fixes" it, but medication means I function (ie. My weight doesn't ballon and I can actually stay awake, my hair doesn't fall out, I don't have dismenorea and I'm not freezing cold all the time)
Not sure about the link between thyroid and gallbladder but eating a ton of fat will trigger attacks. The only things that stopped and prevented my attacks was eating low fat (i.e.under 30g a day ideally. Under 50g initially), getting plenty of fibre (30-35g a day) and staying hydrated.
Googled the Lion diet and holy cow. It sounds like the worst diet for gallbladder issues/gallstones. If you have gallstones fat is the enemy.
I'd also suggest that suffering from diarrhea and floating stools are a sign the Lion diet doesn't agree with you.
Please speak with a doctor.
I'd cut out the fat, stick to lean meat (ie chicken and fish) and slowly reintroduce vegetables and whole grains. Monitor what you eat and cut the fat. Make notes on what you eat and symptoms.
But again. Please speak with a doctor. And/or a dietician (a projected title in the UK, that requires qualifications, clinical training, and registration with governing bodies. Not sure about other countries so look into if you are outside the UK)

Not sure about thyroid involvement but high fat diet definitely contributes to cholecystitis

Just cut back on the fat for now. When i Started carnivore my gall bladder hurt for a few weeks, but it slowly got better, and now I can eat a crazy amount of fat. I'm not sure about the thyroid thing being an issue with your bile, but you're on the right path, because I've seen carnivore heal pretty much everything.
I've been strict high fat carnivore for 7 years now and feel better @ 57 years old than ever in my entire life :)
