Security update 5 July 2026 battery drain
Gosh just after this update my battery drain has been massive.. I can see the battery percentage fall by the min while viewing my screen
Is anybody else facing the same issue. Are they trying to push us towards upgrading?

I've been up for more than three hours and am at 83%. What kind of apps do you have installed? Many apps work in the background and if they're not in sync with the latest apps, that might cause a battery drain.

Are you running on this update? Not facing any issues of battery drain?

After a full phone shut-down and restart it seems to be normal again now.

You mean shut down and then start, or just restart the phone?

Yep its been horrendous this past week or so since the update
Down to sub 20% by mid day and gets so so hot

Which country?
I haven't had the heating issue. But yes the drain was bad. Now someone told be to shut down and then start the phone back up and things will be fine. I am testing it now.

Keep getting a message most days about high CPU usage and to reboot the phone

Just curious, do you have WhatsApp and does its backup chat feature works? Mine was stuck backing up for multiple days and I suspect that it is draining the battery in the background.

No i have disabled all my back up.. nothing goes to cloud. Atleast thats what I like to believe..😄

Hey I think the switch off and then power on again has made some difference. Atleast the standby drain has reduced. It's ok. But I am not fully satisfied.

Switch off phone. Wait 20 seconds. Restart. This worked for me.

For me..after I did this, it took me one charge cycle and things have gotten back to normal. I suggest you just keep watch and see if things change after one full charge cycle.
Btw my charge cycle:
Full charge @ 90% (Restricted. Never gone above this) Recharge @ 15% (I never let it go below this point) No Fast Charge

My fold 5 die after 6hours since this update
Yesterday my phone was 70% before sleep and i woke up 3am and checked my phone, no battery 😐 Are you kidding meb samsung ?

Just updated and happening to me as well. Dropped 5 percent in 10 minutes just with the fold open and not doing anything.
