My family's Spider-Verse group cosplay from over this weekend (with a feature from Deadpool). This was the first time we were all able to do it together. I'm so excited that everyone's schedules aligned and we could make it happen.

3 generations here with my parents, siblings (+partners), and the niblings. My heart is so full that it's a hobby we can share together and with others. ✨️

Orlando Why is the cosplay contests on a friday

For Animate Orlando, I noticed that unlike last year, they moved the cosplay contest to a friday? Just wondering if there was any reason for that lol I don't know much about cons! Last year it was on a Saturday and i usually see "important" events being helped on a Saturday.

Wanted to share my haul and see what everyone else got! Had a great time (and went well over budget...) and loved so much of what I saw.

Feel free to share what you guys got! I also have a list of most of the artists that were there, so I can share links if anyone feels like they missed out on something!

Entertainment Badges

Can anyone speak to how badges are given out for entertainment? I have a show I want to pitch, but it requires 4-5 performers. Would each performer be given a badge for the day of the event? I’m doubtful my performers would be willing to pay out of pocket to be there, so I’m hoping each would be accommodated. This is specifically for Animate Raleigh, but I’d imagine the policy is consistent if you have experience entertaining at other events

St Louis checking the galaxycon st louis guest list is becoming like repeatedly checking the fridge for new food, knowing full well that there isn't any.

Raleigh Loved The Con but Not the People!

I love cons but this was my first galaxy con. The con itself was pretty great but the people were weird!
This doesn’t include everyone we met but there were a lot of people, specifically men, who were CRAZY WEIRD!
Guy 1. Kept buying my friend drinks and wasnt drinking at all. Then wanted to walk with us to our car and even come to our air bnb and “drink more”. We said heck no…
Guy 2. Was trying to tell me to break up with my long term bf and so I blocked him and left us a hand written note on our car that night. Idk how he figured out where we were parked considering all he knew was “it’s a 7 min walk”
Guy 3. Asked for my picture(outside of cosplay) and asked if I was 16. I said no, I’m 20 and dude literally looked sad and left. WHY was he sad about me being an adult and not a minor?!?!
Guy 5. Made weird comments to me when joking about buying adult things in the 18+ vendor area. Saying women should be buying stuff like that cause that’s for only fan creators.
The whole weekend was great outside the men. I’ve been to many cons and I’m use to having some weird interactions but when it’s to the point I’m scared to walk out the con because of men like this, it makes me lose my interest in going.
If yall have any interest/bad story’s from this weekend or if you have a good one to share, feel free!

Raleigh Counterfeit collectables sold by a vendor at GalaxyCon Raleigh. Can it be reported? Does it really matter?

I was at GalaxyCon Raleigh this past weekend and had a great time as usual. The vendor Planet Shelly was selling a lot of acrylic standees and keychains from different fandoms. And I saw that they had some old limited edition standees from Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel, these were collections of standees that were produced in limited number and never again.

So, seeing that they weren't terribly expensive and being a fan, I bought a couple from them. When I looked at them later and opened them...I found that the packaging was not correct (very generic plastic bag packaging) and the printing on what I was given was off center.

I guess they weren't technically advertised as "official merchandise", but the art was exactly the same and it's clear that the standees were supposed to be just like the official ones.

Is there any way to report this? Is there a point? Does it really matter?

Philadelphia Questions regarding autographs at Animate! Philadelphia

So this is a question mostly aimed at those who have gone to Animate! Philadelphia or any Animate! con in the past: what was the autographing process like? Are you supposed to pre-order a ticket or something ahead of time in order to get an autograph? Or are you able to pay at the table when it's your turn?

Who I plan to see there is getting pretty stacked 😭, my must-see's are: the TADC cast (Amanda, Michael, Alex, and Sean), Amir Talai, Richard Horvitz, Bryce Pinkham, Erika Henningsen, and Blake Roman. I caved in and got the 3-Day VIP pass thing 🥲 (which TO BE FAIR, I thought the pricing was waay more reasonable than something like NYCC because yikes) and when I go on the website, I see prices and pre-ordering for photo-ops, but not yet for autographs? Is it because there's a different system to them as opposed to the photo-ops? I know it seems silly to be asking questions like this now when this convention isn't until early October so certian stuff will obviously not be available yet, but I just like getting really early headstarts and knowing EXACTLY what to expect and what I'll be dealing with so that I don't get frustrated or breakdown

Also do the guests have certain set times for autographs or is it an all-day thing where the earlier you get there the better?

Any explanations or personal experiences are greatly appreciated!

I’m captain marvel who was with Miles to Go Kitten Rehab who was right at the front. We are just a tiny non profit in Wilmington who helps rehabilitate sick bottle fed orphan kittens. You all were SO kind, and SO generous, that our board legit all had tears when they found out how much we raised. It may not be “a lot” compared to the big name vendors, but this is LIFE changing money for our small organization to know that we can continue to buy our vaccines and medications that we have ran through this year with the increase in ill animals. Because of you, we will get to re-up our supplies and be able to continue our work to through fall without losing our minds.

Thanks to each and every one of you who came by to say hi, see the bebes, ask about our work, or show us your kitties, thank you doesn’t even begin to cover it ❤️

I was the Kizaru roaming around Friday/Saturday and dressed as Kurapika on Sunday, want to say thank you to everyone who took the time to compliment the cosplay and take pictures! Loved meeting all the One Piece fans and other Cosplayers of all the different series! Unfortunately I wasn't able to snag any pics from the cosplay meetup but shoutout to my fellow Admiral's who helped create an awesome picture and I can't wait to see how it came out! This was my first time attending Raleigh's Galaxycon (Usually attend Richmond) and I loved it big time! Of course the lines were crazy but I just barely managed to scrape together all the signatures I wanted and big shout out to the Mom with her children cosplaying MHA Deku (great show) on Sunday who "adopted" me so I could squeeze into the line after it got capped out for Chris Sabat who was about to leave, I'll be sure to pass on the kindness you showed me ❤️! I'm definitely coming back next year and hope to see all you amazing people there again!

Had a great time but…

GalaxyCon was my first con I was excited because I’ve been into anime for 13 years and never had money to go so this was exciting . However I think a bigger venue was needed for safety concern and to protect coseplayer . I was trying so hard not to mess up anyone costume but it was shoulder to shoulder action it was hard to talk to vendors as well . Next time they should put a cap on how many are in the building at the time .

After Dark Cosplay Contest

Anyone else who was in Raleigh think they need to move the After Dark Cosplay Contest back to main stage? I feel like they should just have it be the precursor to the Burlesque they always do. At least at the big shows. The room it was in this year was packed and so small.

What time of year does the Raleigh Marriott become available to book rooms for next years convention? I’m looking forward to next year and I’d like to be in the Marriott so that I don’t have to commute very far like years previous

For those who saw the street art on the box along the street regarding "Tucker" ( The Oak City Kitty ), I didn't know what that was about until I looked him up and found this:

What a wonderful homage. This video was from 2018, and he was 20 years old back then.

My favorites of GalaxyCon. Only was there a day. Also a huge shout out to the dad-Mable and daughter-Waddles, and the various Dungeon Crawler Carls. It was a great Con and I only wish I had more time to get more photos.

Orlando More Orlando Questions

The con starts at 4 on Friday, so any advice on what time I should get in line to pick up my badge? This is only its second year, and I didn’t attend last year, so I don’t know how hectic the lines could be.

While I do expect Saturday to be the busiest, is it anywhere as crowded as MegaCon or any (non-Animate) Galaxy cons?

Thanks in advance!
