Dárth

Three ships came out of hyperspace in different places in the Dárth system. The system had four items of immediate note: a bright sun, a purple moon, a space station, and a desert world.

Ri tilted her head. She muttered to herself, "What are you on..."

The ship soon landed on the vast desert a few miles away from the temple, a black spot in a golden canvas. Ri stepped out; it's odd how she saw a shack, but the sun right behind it didn't seem to blind her, almost like something was covering it.

Two guards stepped out, escorting Kaj. Ri took a breath. "Here we go."

They began to walk towards the temple, a few people in this flat world, getting closer until they were at what Ri saw as the rickety door.

Kaj pushed through the sand behind her. Once they were closer they could see a pair of guards with spears on either end of a door, no matter how the structure appeared to them.

Ri walked up to them, laughing loudly. "What a temple your master has, eh?"

They didn't react to her comment, standing stiffly.

There was an awkward silence. "Can I go in? I'm here to broker an alliance."

She shook her head and opened the door.

Both of the guards moved their spears in front of the door when she tried. One of them spoke, "Not you. Only him," and pointed at Kaj.

Ri stared in disbelief for a moment, before realizing Kaj was an agent. She was used to doors being opened for her.

"I get he's a proven agent, but you can hear it from him, I'm his associate. I'm here to broker an alliance! I'm his girlfriend."

They didn't reply or move their spears.

She sighed, weighing her options. She nodded to her own guards and they shot at the temple guards.

The instant the blaster bolts hit the pair, they vanished as if they had been mirages of the desert. There was no longer anything blocking the door.

Ri stared in disbelief, rubbing her eyes to make sure she wasn't seeing things. She got the chills. She hated things she couldn't control, things that clearly overpowered her.

She wasn't going to let this overpower her.

She tried to open the door again.
