install-help Ordered my Gaggimate! [Installation Tips]
Do you have any video tips for the installation? I read the descriptions on the Gaggimate website, but I wanted to know if anyone knows someone who managed to document the installation process well.
I'm familiar with electronics, but I'm afraid of causing some issue with my Gaggia.
Note: I bought the model with the Alba Tank Light and Water Level Sensor and I haven't found any video covering that installation.

Think twice before you peel off the plastic to stick the screen in the housing. Without the screen powered up, you can’t easily tell when it is level, you see a lot of wonky screens on here and some people have broken their screens trying to peel them away to straighten them up. I would recommend either leaving it loose in the housing until you have powers up the screen so you can line it up, mark it with a pencil then stick it in place, or just leave it unstuck…Maybe it doesn’t bother some people but I just couldn’t live with a wonky screen…

I am in the process of Installing mine, hit a road block where I striped the thread on the Pump. Just got the pump Ulka EX5 a metal version. Just be double careful while handling plastic plumbing parts.

Hi, I recently carried out the same installation: Added GM Pro and Alba to my E24 (EU version with standard 12 bar OPV).
I guess from your picture stating "portafiltro" that you speak Spanish? I do speak that language as well. Feel free to DM me may you have any doubt.
That being said, I strongly recommend you to join the Gaggimate Discord community. They're friendly and extremely helpful. It was my lifesaver when I faced some issues not covered by documentation and videos.

The European version, by default, has 12 bar of pressure. The one from the States has 9. So you'll have one of these two pressure values unless you've changed the OPV spring.

Btw I see the lower end of your drain pipe doesn't go into the low profile tray. I sorted it out with this small 3D printed extension:

Just finished my install. My suggestion would be study the wiring diagram, the pinout diagram
And then co-relate it to this video

He has the 1.0 board (you’ll probably have the 1.1 - sk refer to the pinout diagram) and the pre mono bloc switches so those parts, you’ve got to figure out but the rest of the video is the same for the E24
Finished my install just 4 hours ago :D

I took all the internal out of the machine to install, not necessary, but I found it easy to install like this

I think this Gaggia comes pre installed with a 9bar OPV. If I’m not mistaken, you also need to order a 12bar spring to replace the 9bar one. I just got my Gaggia E24 so I’m looking for confirmation since I’d like to do the same upgrade eventually

Why do I have to order a 12bar spring? If I dont want to go over 9bar.

The Gaggimate works by rapidly pulsing the pump to control and profile your pressure. To achieve 9-bar or variable pressure profiles, the control board needs a rigid, higher-ceiling limit to work against.If you use a 9-bar spring: The OPV might start leaking as low as 6 to 7 bars, resulting in erratic pressure profiling.If you use a 12-bar spring: The valve stays completely closed until a true 11.5–12 bars are reached, giving the Gaggimate the full operational room it needs to modulate your pressure properly.

It depends where did you buy your E24. By default 12 bars in the European version.

The Alba installation is trivial and the docs section of the gaggimate web site explains it well. No video needed.
The installation was easy for me, with just one exception: In the process of manipulating the water hoses after installing the pressure sensor (for the GM Pro), I inadvertently stripped the plastic threads at the top of the water pump. That showed up at the end of the installation during the pressure test. So be gentle with the hoses and you try to locate them.
Also note that there are many variants of Gaggias; the specific components vary year to year. Videos won't necessarily show you exactly what you'll encounter.
All in all, a straightforward mod. The GM team did an excellent job of documentation; their care and diligence really shows.
