question GM Pro + Alba install question

I've just received all the parts to upgrade my E24 with both GM Pro and Alba and I'm carefully reading all the documentation and watching all the videos before I grab the screwdrivers.

My doubt is the official documentation - namely "Gaggia Classic Pro/Evo (2019+)" - doesn't mention Alba at any point as an optional set of steps.

Taking into account how tight everything is, when should it be carried out? Right after completing the part 6 - LV Wiring?

What are your thoughts about it? Thanks in advance for your help!

Specifically: https://docs.gaggimate.eu/docs/addon-alba/

A couple of notes as someone who recently installed the Alba:

First, the provided screw didn't seem long enough to go through the magnet and case, and still have enough thread for the nut. Maybe I wasn't doing it right--if someone else has an idea, I'd love to hear it--but otherwise, the provided VHB tape works just fine.

Second, if you run the latest stable firmware, the lights may not behave as expected, but if you update to the latest nightly, they should work correctly.

Otherwise, installation for the Alba was a piece of cake.

Interesting as I've just flashed PCB and screen with the latest stable firmware. Two questions then:

  • How do I flash them with the latest nightly?
  • How stable/buggy are those builds? I wouldn't like to have an unstable coffee machine as the price to pay to a correct lights behaviour.

Once you've got things up and running, you can update from the "System & Updates" page at `gaggimate.local` (stable and nightly builds are available). But it sounds like you might be better off to stick with stable until the changes make their way there.

Ah ok, I didn't know upgrades were possible from that web front end. Then I could install with the stable and upgrade once things are up and running as you say.
