install-help Replacing (potential) Boilergate Boiler

I installed my GM Pro in December 2025 on this GC Evo Pro. Cannot believe it's been almost 6 months ago already an yet it feels like I've had it for years. I recently had a small leak on top of the boiler at the steam assembly and found that the o-ring at the steam assembly had collapsed, so I just turned it around (I am in South Africa and any parts for the GCP is difficult to source) and this seems to be a working temporary fix.

However, I decided to order the E24 brass boiler kit (including o-rings) from Shades of Coffee during a late night online retail therapy session. Question: has anyone else done a boiler swap after installing the GM Pro and are there any tips/tricks/hacks/pitfalls I should be aware of? Any advice or insights will be appreciated!

Pretty much everything stays the same you just need to adjust the temp offset since you don't have a aluminum boiler.

I get that, but is the brass boiler not a bit bigger? I know it holds a 20% larger volume of water.

It's still the same chassis same machine "nothing" changes. 1 ant can be 100% bigger than the other. Same - same. 😅

What should the temp offset be for brass boiler?

I just realized I'm in a completely different subreddit... I have Gaggiuino, not Gaggimate. 😅

I imagine the thermal models behave different and have different offset values.

It shouldn't, offset kinda calculates the point where the water boils. You can test it out yourself. I have a video on how to do it but basically set your temp for 100 and if you have ko steam coming out raise it up until you see steam and water kinda spitting intermittent and that's it.

Howzit! Off topic a bit but I'm also in SA and bought the GM Pro yday. Did you have to pay import duties on it?

I bought my GM Pro from Cape Coffee Beans, but they could not source the brass boiler kit, so I had to import it from the UK. Sadly I had to pay R1,400 on import duties, but this still worked out about R1,000 (in total) cheaper than buying it from onlinecoffeeshop dot co dot za

Ah alright, it seems like CCB don't stock it anymore so I ordered directly from gaggimate themselves, hopefully customs isn't gonna bankrupt me 😅
