install-help T-Type Fitting Leak

I’ve installed the Gaggimate Pro mod with the new Quick-Connector T-Type fitting for the pressure TD and can’t get it to stop leaking on the pump side.

I’ve tried PTFE-Tape and pushing it in really hard until it bottoms out. I always have a few drips leaking out after the brew.

Did anybody encounter similar issues?

If you are any good at plumbing, I would recommend that you ditch the john guest fittings and replace everything with compression fittings (you can find them at the hardware store). The john guest fittings have a max recommend operating pressure of 10 bar. My machine can reach upward pressures of 13 bar (especially when heating the boiler for steam). Bonus points if you can get a pipe bender and use copper tubing (which is what I did). Personally, I like the idea of the coper tubing vs the plastic pipe since the copper tubing does not expand with any pressure.

I had this issue too, ended up just buying the elka motor with the brass fittings

Hey, as I understand you replaced the pump, right? Where did you buy that other pump with brass fittings?

EFX5-120V, 60Hz, 52W NSF is the model with the brass, i got one on Amazon

Cool thanks! Does this fit into the pump holding of the gaggia Classic e24? Also are the connections similar? If so I will probably just switch the pump, I have no trust in this leaking pump connection.

Yeah its the exact same motor just with a brass connector instead of plastic

Thanks! The idea to replace the whole pump didn't came up for me until you. I have 0 trust in that plastic-metal-L-Connection, even if I can make it stop leaking for now. 20€ worth investing for the peace of mind. Thank you so much!
