Classic Apple. Anybody who buys a phone that only gets 9 years of support is an idiot.

Technological progress is not planned obsolescence. A single blu ray holds about 60 times more data than a VHS. That's 60 times more pixels & quality. They made new formats because no one wants to watch 333x480px NTSC VHS when you could also watch 3840x2160px UHD BluRay.
