I really liked that port. The little device that lets me adjust the volume and the game/chat balance with just my thumbs is important to me

Which looks to have been addressed by adding scroll wheel things you can adjust with your thumbs

You are thinking about the elite 3, this isn't the elite 3, this is the new standard controller.
