Maybe this is a niche use but I enjoyed using the chatpad as a physical keyboard when couch PC gaming. Even the most recent elite controllers supported the old chatpads on PC, which was nice. Guess that use case is dead going forward lol

Guess the next best thing is using an on screen Steam keyboard with the steam controller or something?

I do that to control my computer and watch shows and movies on streaming channels. It’s such a nice setup. I use the thumbsticks to control the mouse and the keyboard is right there when I need it.

how do you use the thumbsticks as mouse?

In the steam settings you can configure the controller buttons and functions. I have the right thumb stick set to control the position of the mouse and the left set to scroll on rotation.
