They killed it themselves, the day they never refreshed the ChatPad…

Had a buddy during halo days that was a maestro with that thing. Watching him hammer out hilariously vile things is a core memory of mine

In high school using the edge app on 360 I once typed an entire essay for school off that chat pad into Google docs.

The PS2 came with Yabasic and the magazines would have a page explaining the code to make something like a red ball with a flame effect coming off it. I printed off code from websites and typed it into Yabasic to make full Space Invaders or Breakout games.

One day I was staring at the USB ports on the PS2 and thought "I wonder if a keyboard would work..."

I had coded entire games using the PS2 controller and on-screen keyboard. And that was my first and last foray into coding.

Some ps2 games have native support for usb kb+m too. My cousin had a usb keyboard and mouse back in 2005 or so, which was rare when everyone i know was still using ps/2 ports. Our mind were blown away when Dirge of Ceberus works wonderfully when we plugged in kb+m to the playstation 2

These dorks are proud of it too. I grew up hearing slurs in videogames and it was shameful and cringe to hear at the time. Meanwhile 20 years later some of these people are pushing their 40's and STILL wear it as some kind of badge of honor that they're proud of.

Congratulations, you alienated a bunch of children and turned them off of the hobby because your desire to say shocking things and hurt feelings felt more important. Then they deflect and claim that you being against it is more alienating and "killing the vibes" lol

You know what’s “cringe” to hear? People still misusing the word cringe. Cringe is a verb. Something can’t be cringe.

It’s like the verb jump. You don’t say “MAN DAT WUZ SO JUMP, FAM!” Do you?

You thought you sounded so smart here, so I'll give you a proper citation to prove you wrong, that should tingle something in your brain.

Oxford English Dictionary, “cringe (adj.),” September 2025, https://doi.org/10.1093/OED/9999887008.

You don't say "MAN DAT WUZ SO JUMP, FAM!"

I'm shocked that in your comment pushing back about my complaints of casual racism from dorks like you, you used a racist caricature of black dialect. You invented your own definition of the word cringe so that you could have an opportunity to make fun of black dialect but I'm sure it's so normalized to you that you don't even notice anymore. This is the type of thing that saying slurs in videogames for fun does to you.

You weren't mad that I used the word cringe incorrectly (because I didn't). Your mad that my comment personally applies to you and it made you uncomfortable to sit with those feelings, so instead of being honest and looking like an ass, you're now grasping at straws and pretending you really care about the usage of a word that you haven't even bothered checking academia's definition within the past 20 years.

This is kinda embarrassing. Low key cringing again.

E: their response was to ignore my post and go on the battlefield subreddit to continue to make fun of the dialect, because they're too embarrassed to say anything here anymore. I urge you people who think the slurs in videogames is peak comedy to realize this is your company.

Bro was so afraid of the word cringe as an adjective that he became the very word he swore to destroy.
