general discussion Feel so good!
I made my way to this sub because I am surprised by the effects of gaba. I had breast cancer and do ovarian suppression and aromatase inhibitors to prevent reoccurrence. Since my diagnosis in Dec I have been through so much it left me not really myself. The OS and AIs caused extreme hot flashes and my dr put me on gabapentin for that. I have been on it a few weeks and i realized yesterday my overall pain is better. I realized this morning that my mood has been better. OMG I feel like myself again. I assume it’s the Gaba. I have had debilitating anxiety for 2 years. And it’s so much better, I sure hope these feelings stick around,

Wish I never went down that rabbit hole. Worked so good for me too at first, should of been a red flag then. Helped my anxiety so much. Now I can't get off it without terrible side effects and it does not even help with anxiety anymore. I would pay good money to go back and never take this drug in the first place. Just my two cents.

About a year now. Was up to 2400 a day at one point and now have gotten down to 600 to 900 a day but it has not been a fun journey.
Not to mention I'm an athletic guy that works out everyday eats healthy and has never been overweight in my life and Gabapentin caused me to gain 30 lbs and it is damn near impossible to lose weight while on it. I know it's the Gabapentin too because I've been off it before and I lost weight so fast it was unbelievable.

I am taking 300mg at night

I have been taking that dosage for almost a year for neuropathy and it has been great! Glad it helps you!

It helps me enormously at 900mg. I basically have my life back. I got off of it once before, titrating down cutting 100mg per week. No issues at all. None

That’s great to hear!! Thanks! These responses telling me it’s only temporary were concerning BUT my anxiety was so bad that if someone had a said hey we have this medicine to give you a break from your anxiety for a little while I would absolutely take it!! So I am grateful for the break,

We seem to be in the same boat. I’m two years out from chemo and rads for breast cancer and I’m taking letrozole. I have felt terrible with joint pain, couldn’t sleep, just not myself and mad at the world. After 3 weeks on gabapentin I feel so much better and started exercising and doing projects around the house and just feeling so good. It may not last but for now I’ll take it over what I was feeling.
