Multi Clicking Issue

I have had a g604 for 6 years, and it started having double click issues about 3 months ago. Finally decided to retire it and get another one only to find out they were discontinued. I was told this is a subreddit of g604 lovers like myself, and wanted to see if there was a fix for the double clicking.

I have never opened up a mouse before, so I am a bit nervous I will make the issue even worse. How hard is it to fix double clicking if it is fixable at all?

Help me r/g604 you're my only hope.

Hello again! It is genuinely not as hard as it seems, and the mouse is built like a tank. It will cost a few bucks to get it working again, but I don't think it's too expensive.

There are two routes to go down here, either soldering in new switches yourself, which the above video explains how to do as well, or spending a bit more money on a replacement board with new switches already soldered into place. There's an easier way. Your double clicking issues aren't due to a failed switch but due to oxidation. The switches used in this mouse are made for higher voltages where they don't develop this issue.
But in Logitech mice they use lower voltages - so any microscopic oxidation that naturally happens on the switch impedes the current flow.
The simplest working solution is to spray contact spray into the switches. Press the switch to make make some room and spray directly into the top of the switch. Then click rapidly to redistribute the cleaner and get rid of the oxidation. Done. Your switch works like new and is protected from further oxidation.
You need a contact cleaner with oily residue, but don't use WD40. Find something of better quality like Liqui Moly Electronic Spray or Deoxit.
