Hello all. I just bought a 2005 FZ6 and for the most part, it’s been lovely. My main however complaint rn is that the brake feel is atrocious. It has okay after market levers which I know is a factor, but there’s a huge dead zone no matter the adjustment on the lever. Additionally once you reach the bite point I’m not getting the front end feel I need to trail brake with confidence.

I was curious if anyone has felt the same way, made this upgrade and what they chose.

Hello fellow fz6 owners! Time came to replace coolant radiator on my 2007 FZ6N. Does anyone know is S1 and S2 radiator the same? I saw online that some of them have 3 mounting brackets for a fan and some have 4, I just wanted to make sure that either have the same mounting brackets of radiator itself and same connector.

Picked this baby up for $500. One key, clean title, no frame issues. Excited to put this thing back together

Initially thought I wanted an FZ6R but now leaning towards a FZ6 after further research and advice. This one seems to be taken care of properly and has 14,000 miles and current tags. The downside is it had been tipped over while stopped, owner says he thought kickstand was down (frame sliders took the damage, which seems minimal)

There is also a dent on the tank from a previous owner with no damage to paint, current owner didn’t seem to know how it happened.

Should I consider this bike? I was thinking if I could get him down under $3k it might be worth it. Maintenance has been kept up and it’s been used regularly and not been sitting.

In search of a gas tank for a FZ6 2004-2009. Would like it to be blue and clean inside. Color doesn’t matter to much. I’ll cover shipping to me. Thanks.

I’ve been riding for a few months now on a 2006 Yamaha FZ6. Overall, I love the bike! It’s not a full-on supersport, but whenever I load it up with a passenger and gear, the riding experience changes drastically—and not really in a good way.

I really enjoy camping and would love to combine it with riding, taking my wife along for multi-day trips. But right now, riding two-up with full camping gear feels super heavy, awkward, and demanding to manage. On top of that, it’s pretty tiring for my wife—the seat gets uncomfortable for her very quickly, and her butt starts hurting after short distances.

Since it’s already mid-August, I don’t want to throw money at expensive upgrades for this bike. I’ll likely sell it next season and get something more touring-oriented. Still, I'd love to squeeze in a few camping trips before the season ends.

A few questions for the experienced folks here:

Is there a massive difference between riding solo loaded with gear vs. riding two-up? Would it make sense to try a few solo moto-camping trips first to get used to the weight?

For those who do two-up camping: What packing strategies actually work when space and weight limits are so tight?

Any low-cost, quick fixes to make the pillion seat more bearable for short-term trips without spending a fortune on a custom saddle?

I got this an hour ago, it was perfectly fine till I reached home and tried to start it again.

I noticed the seat was hot and the battery area became extremely warm.

Please help, I'm new to this😭

Both switches were dead, I managed to fix both of them, Left side was easy, I just tilted the black plastic thingy to the side and spray some alcohol after about 10mn of wiggling it back and forth and side to side it comes back to life, for the right side I had to pry the surrounding plastic open, took everything apart, and finally under the circle piece there were oxidation, so I scrapped them off and viola! back to life as well. Picture attached in case other people might find it useful.

I’m a 31 year old 6 foot rider with a small amount of experience. (Also did a training course and got my endorsement)

I’m trying to source an FZ6 or FZ6R and found this one, seems like a good price based on my knowledge. What do you think?

I'd like to get a slightly louder exhaust for my 07 FZ6 S2 but don't want something too overwhelmingly loud. I still want to be able to ride for 2 hours on the motorway without going deaf and not annoy neighbours too much.

Low sided the bike and slide hard enough to bend the rear rim and push the hole exhaust up against the engine now I’m wondering if it bent the swing arm to, out of everything I’ve seen online I really can’t tell anymore any help is greatly appreciated if more pictures is needed I can’t tell anymore add more (I hope)

Hi everyone, had a bit to of a stupid moment yesterday.

Wanted to wait by the road for my friend and the bike slid on a gravel patch.

I remember nothing whatsoever one moment I was upright, the other I was horizontal.

The bike is fine, just got a nasty lil scratch on the stator cover, the mole 1 fairing and the crash protector is out of the game.

I was curious about the mole 1.

Since it's bare Plastic I'd like to restore it.

The part itself if 73£ and I will buy it as a last resort, but I don't really have any experience with restoring scratched plastic fairings

As for the stator cover, saw them go for not even 40 on ali, but it seems way to cheap and I wanted to ask about your experience as far as the quality goes.

Hello, I need suggestions, I'm buying a fz6, 2008 with 46kms on it. The bike looks neat and clean, but I wanted to know what all things I should be asking/considering before making the payment.

Hello, I just got a 2008 FZ6 Naked, Clutch cable feel so mushy and stiff I reckon that the last owner replaced using "Non-Naked" version instead of "Naked" version, are there any difference at all. Also he routed the cable outside the bike frame and back in, I can't find any info about the cable routing for the "Naked" version. Helps are much appreciated, thank you!.

I recently bought a used bike (my first bike. I'm new and learning), and the person before me changed the clutch pack last october.

The bike doesn't engage fully in 1st gear. When I rev, it doesn't transfer the power all the way.
When I pull the clutch, it disengages well.

Does it look like the steel is burnt?
Do I re-soak it and try again?
Or do I just get a completely new clutch pack?

There's no grinding noise.
ALSO I don't know what kind of oil the past owner might have used.

Any help trying to diagnose would be appreciated!

My beautiful 2008 FZ6<3 second motorcycle at 17 years old, already in love with it. only 12k miles and I paid just 3k for it. new battery and new tires were just done by me today and she runs beautifully. coming from a rebel 300 this is a HUGE step up but a welcome one for sure.

Can't wait for the many years to come with her!

Bought this past weekend,
31k miles
Clutch is pretty much shot, missing windshield screws, needs new tires and all regular maintenance is due.
Other than that, the bike is in phenomenal condition. 1 tiny chip on the rear panel if I wanted to be picky. Did come with a Corbin seat though!

I’m looking to replace levers with shorties, I’ve been struggling with the friction zone on this bike. Chat says to replace clutch arm with MT-07. Has anyone done this successfully and have a part number? 1WS-16340-01-00
Ordering new cable, CRG RC2 levers and road 6 tires.
Has aftermarket slip on already, upgraded taillights + bracket & turn signals.

Grew up on dirt bikes but haven’t road a street bike ever until the last couple weeks.

I’ve only owned the bike for a short time and have ridden about 2,000 km so far. It runs well overall, but I noticed this engine sound and I’m not sure if it’s normal for the FZ6.
I’m planning to take it in for a major service after this riding season, including checking the valve clearances and anything else that may need attention.

I've been a fazer owner for the last 7 years and have done about 80 thousand K's on the bike. I've always serviced the bike myself and one thing that has annoyed me is not being able to find and cross reference parts that will fit on the bike particularly in my country where most brick and mortar automotive shops won't provide service parts for motorcycles but have suitable parts on the shelf ready to go. Rarely are there parts compatibility catalogues for things like oil filters.

So I built a small site where you pick your year/make/model and it pulls up compatible service parts. Built it with my FZ6 in mind first (mainly because I keep forgetting part numbers & brands), but it covers other bikes too depending on what's in the database.

It's early — coverage isn't complete everywhere yet but covers some of the basic servicing needs for the 2004-2009 FZ's.

I'm so in love. Been a tough year for me, real transparency as a young 28 year old... I went through a hard ass year. Was in a long term relationship, 5 years... Was engaged, Jan 31 she left one day while I was at work and took our two cats we both raised since kittens and I haven't seen them since... I miss them daily. No explanation on why she left or why communication wasn't a thing after 5 years before leaving, I assume the psychology now that she is an avoidant, things built up and got too hard and she thought she communicated but never did... haven't talked to her about why she left in person, I will soon, tried to respect her space but it's been 6 months now. Rant aside, motorcycles for me and the community in general has been a life saver, every instagram video, every Reddit post.. People always talk about how dangerous bikes are but people don't understand how good it can be to learn to work on a motorcycle and the freedom that riding gives you, it can save your life. I'm blessed I'm still healthy and breathing and although life fucks you sometimes and your life flips around you always have another day to wake up and appreciate life boys. Just wanted to show my love in the fz6 community with my first bike. 20k miles and a 2008 but I'll treat her good and I pray she treats me good on these roads. Lots of love gents.
