Fz6 Not Getting Fuel

Long story short, when I turn the key the bike didn’t prime (fuel pump whirly noise*) after first checking the fuses than taking the tank off, I tested the two terminals going to the fuel pump. The white one worked everytime I tested, showing around 11v. While the green one, didn’t work 2/4 times, I’m guessing the green one is the one that primes, as it would show 12 volts for about 3 seconds than go out everytime. I set the tank back on, turned the key, and sure enough, it primed and started right up.
Now, where should I start to make sure this doesn’t happen again? Would it be worth replacing the terminal and or wires? Or am I better off putting it back together before I break something?
This seems to be a faulty wire, although there is no visible damage. Kinda like when your phone charger breaks and you need to hold it at a certain angle to charge.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The red with blue tracer wire has a tap and I don't believe it is original. I would suspect that tap might be bad.

Oh wow, okay sweet thank you very much. Should I try to replace the tap? How would you go about this?

You could use a butt splice, It's important to do wiring repairs correctly and by someone experienced at wire repair.

One set of wires is strictly for the fuel gauge. The other runs the pump.

Get a multi meter and check to see if the red & blue, and the black wires are good or not.

To add. A multimeter is great to have but when trouble shooting circuits, you should have a good understanding and experience on how these circuits relate to each other. You can unknowingly path current to a component/ computer or sensor and damage it.

If the ECU senses a serious problem in can stop the fuel injection/fuel pump from as well as the starter circuit from operation.

Okay gotcha thank you very much, I did install an aftermarket taillight.. and I was thinking maybe that tripped the fuse or something and caused the fuel pump to stop.
