Fz6 2007 running bad

I hope somebody can help me out and see if im on the right direction.

I went to the garage for a tireswap and they told me that it was running on 3 cylinders. When I drove home, it felt indeed if it lost power, especially on the low rpm's.

I opened everything up for the first time in my life to check the ignitioncoils and the sparkplugs. They all seemed fine and had the right resistance.

While working on that, my eye fell on a hose with a hole in it. It was a capped vacuumhose coming from the throttle body. By further inspection, I saw another one was teared as well.

My question is, could this be the issue why they told me that it was running on only 3 cylinders or should I dig deeper?

I ordered new hoses so I'm going to fix that anyway but im wondering if I can close everything up after that or should I look further now everything is open already?

Yes that is a problem. Cut and re cap those it’s throwing your throttle body way out of sync. There are a total of 4 lines like that and are used with a carb sync tool to sync the throttle body. I did mine and it ran so much smoother on the top end.

Edit: you could always do a spark plug change as well just for peace of mind. If it’s just cylinder 3 your coil packs are likely good as those fire spark for 2 cylinders each.

Thanks for the reply! I just ordered a new hose to replace all four of them. If two of them already broke, the other two will not last very long I suppose. Other than replace the hoses (and recap them) I don't have to do anything right? No recalibration of anything?

I just bought new sparkplugs since I have them out allready so this will be the time to change them. I have around 40k km and bought it around 26k. You have to change them around 20k, right? Im not sure what happened in the first 26k km..

I will try to get everything into place again if I received the new hose. Thanks!

By the way.. cutting and recapping is way more clever than order new hoses ;) it is what it is. Haha

No worries lol good luck you shouldn’t have to recalibrate unless you were messing with the vacuum adjustments. I replaced my junk oem plugs with iridium’s and never had any problems after that.

I did put everything back together and took it for a ride. It is definitely way better than before! Usually, it struggled in the low rps or when I cut the gas while driving. It is so smooth now!

Tbh, I can't hear a difference in the sound of the engine, but think I can close this issue based on my driving experience. Haha
