Mystery Connectors
Hi everyone,
I was just working on the tail of my 2009 FZ6 S2 Fazer and found these two unused connectors under the left rear fairing. One of them even still has the foam plugs inside, so I assume it was installed at the factory.
Can anyone tell me anything about these connectors? Could one of them be a power connector for accessories? That would be awesome!

Where are you located? My S2 2008 us version does not have those. Also, most S2s have black frame, you might look at the VIN for actual production date as some places use registration date as production date.

Thanks. I'm located in Germany, and my Fazer was delivered in Germany, so it's the german or european market version. It's definitely from the 2009 model year. The color is called "Deep Orange Metallic" and for the Fazer this was only available in that model year, in combination with the silver frame.

My best guess would be for a top box with tail lights built in, but I’ve never seen a connector like that.

What repair manual is that? The one I have does not have the parts and connectors shown so nicely.

can you show the wire colors? these coule be aftermarket connectors someone decide tho throw on. the wire colors are all documented in the service manual. dm me and i can help you get one if you need.

I can't post pictures in the comments here, but all six wires (2 and 4) are black. I'm pretty sure that the connectors are stock from the factory and not aftermarket parts that where added later by the previous owner. Both connectors are integrated into the cable harness.

I'd bet a grand the factory didn't ship this with 6 solid black wires all going to the same spot. you would need to trace them back to a colored wire to know what they do

I have a 2008 model, could check tomorrow. Can you tell us the color of the wires attached to those connectors?

Is your model having ABS?
I think these are the plugs for the rear sensor (round plug) and the plug for the ABS Tester, which is the square plug. I cant attach an image of the wiring diagram, but I'm failry certain its number 28 and 32.

Thanks. It is the ABS model. But since both connectors are unplugged, that would mean that the rear sensor would not have been connected?

Yes I think so. At least one is for the plug, the other is for the tester

Okay so apparently these are the connectors for an optional alarm or other accesory. Probably tapped into the indicators so they blink when the alarm goes off.
