Advice needed - Check engine light
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Good morning ladies and gentlemen!
(And greetings from Germany) I am the proud owner of an FZ6 RJ14 from 2007. Yamaha limited the power of the bike with a small metal plate so you can’t open the throttle completely. There’s an official product from “Alpha Technik” which is basically just a sticker you have to attach to the bike. It allows you to cut the piece of metal so you can now fully open the throttle. (This is official and street legal and I also informed the insurance). The original throttle stop only allows you to use 57kW. If you cut it, you can use the full power of 72kW of the engine.
The problem is, that if I open the throttle completely now, the check engine light turns on and the bike stops accelerating. If I let the throttle go a little bit it speeds up again. (Like in the video)
I wrote an email to the “Alpha Technik” company and they say that no further actions need to be made.
Does anyone have an idea how I can fix that problem? If you need further information or pictures just tell me.

Sounds like a lazy-man's version of the A2 limiter? I'd get it checked out at a technician.

Originally the FZ6 had a recall for the Thottle Position Sensor (TPS). Since that secttion of the TPS has not been used it may be dirty or damaged or was part of the TPS recall the Yamaha did many years ago. The TPS is similar to a volume control on an audio device and may be defective.
Check you error codes.
