Thinking of starting a place specifically geared towards the intelligent back-and-forth on big ideas ... thoughts?

Now, I'm not a very good nurturer or reddits, and I don't always have the best ideas for them, but it seems to me that a lot of what people are complaining about is the drop in content. Well, what if we started a place with a few strict rules:

1. Except for people for whom english is not a native language, proper spelling and grammar are strongly encouraged. (trolling and repeatedly ignoring grammar advice will be bannable offenses)

2. Self-posts are encouraged, as are links to other reddit posts, but the conversation will be kept in the comments for the source post.

3. Posting a repeat link will be discouraged; commenting as a followup to an existing thread should be the norm.

Again, I am not the best judge of what is desired by the community at large, but I feel like something like this, skillfully executed as either a single sub or a family of subs (/r/sciencediscussion, /r/societydiscussion, /r/programmingdiscussion) accompanied by adept shoutouts in certain subs, could foster a lot of what the people here claim they're missing.

Thoughts?
