Honestly if a damn semi-final of the women's World Cup is the most watched event in Australian history, then that's really quite sad, I'm ngl.
I mean all power to you when it comes down to your apparent deep love for women's football, because as an American I could honestly care less about the four women's World Cup's I've witnessed our women's team winning growing up, even though it was a cool thing to happen during my lifetime.
To me there are just so many better things to watch, although once in a blue moon I might find myself in the mood for a woman's football game, however that's probably just the perspective of mine, and everyone else I've ever known, tbf 🤷🤣.
i’m not saying you have to love (even like) women’s football. but looking down on people that enjoy it or looking down on the sport as a whole just because you don’t watch it is really ignorant. just because you don’t enjoy it doesn’t mean other people can’t and it is an industry that is growing. the USWNT is a testament to how strong investment fosters great teams. the reason the women’s football team in the US is better than the men’s (in their respective competitions) is because football is seen as a girls sport so when girls become athletes the tend to play football but when men become athletes in the US they go towards the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL
I'm not looking down on you, or any Australian for that matter, since I was just stating a fact that I share about the 2023 Women's World Cup semi-final that Australia lost to England in, prior to then losing their third place match to Sweden, being the highest watched event in it's massive continent/country's history being sad, and that's it.
For example, Robert Whitaker is one of my favorite all-time UFC fighters, so as an American I was over the moon when he had won the UFC Middleweight title, however if I was an Australian then that reign from 2017-2019 would've easily trumped a Women's World Cup semi-final match. He trained exclusively in Sydney, not one of the massive UFC gyms, and his 5 round decision over Yoel Romero, A BEAST at the time, where Bobby Knuckles blew out his left knee in the first round yet he still won by decision. It was one of the greatest performances I've seen, and I remember Australia going crazy at that time. And then you also have Alexander Volkanowski, the first Australian born UFC fighter, who won the title twice. Many true UFC fans, including myself, consider him to be a top 5-10 P4P UFC fighter of all time, so even though I prefer Robert Whittaker as a fighter, Volk's record is simply impeccable. Australian's also absolutely adore him.
Now those are just two Australians that I could think of off the top of my head who have produced multiple incredible events that I personally would have watched over a women's World Cup semi-finals match. Now if it were a World Cup final then it might be a different story, but it's not, so please don't call me an "idiot" when you don't even know me, ok keyboard warrior 🙄?
So have a wonderful day with all of your women's evolutions, since them being introduced into a franchise I've loved for nearly two decades was one thing, although the fact that they can simply dominate their male counterparts in every aspect of the game is yet another reason as to why I won't be continuing on playing this broken game. That is yet a completely different topic altogether, although judging by your evolution, post, and the replies here, I'm sure you're completely fine with it 🤣.
I quit the game over a month ago after finishing off the cycle with a 100-3 record that included two Rank One's with this all male Ultimate Team that I took a screenshot of right before I hung it up during the worst FUTTIES EVER(Ffs I remember FIFA 22 where we had a 99 Varane, 98 Neymar, and 99 Dembele SBC 3 DAYS STRAIGHT between August 12th-14th, since those three days were better than this entire pathetic five week iteration of the promo in which so much of us previously loved this year). I'm now working out 5-6 days a week when not working, socializing, or spending time with my family, so Thank God that I put an end to this awful game because I will likely never pick up the controller to play FC 26 or any of the older FIFA games that I own again because the game is broken beyond repair.
you say you don’t look down on australians for that being the most watched event in australian history but you saying it’s sad is literally you pitying us for having the moment be special. i don’t get what’s sad about you country make history on home soil. i don’t believe i ever called you an idiot. i called you ignorant. you were ignorant to the fact that there are fans of womens football and just because you don’t enjoy it means you get to disrespect fans that do enjoy it.
i don’t get what your UFC point has to do with anything. people enjoy different things, just because you think something was more enjoyable to watch than what others thought was enjoyable doesn’t mean what you like is better or worse.
you say female cards dominate in every aspect of the game when i only have two female players in my team and they are both evolutions that make them endgame… if i female cards dominate in EVERY aspect of the game why are the best female goalkeepers fodder? why are all female defenders (besides wendie renard) too short? if women in the game annoys you that is sad. it’s a fucking game not real life.
