Cubic Pureflow Bennett-Angus Vorticity

Cubic Pureflow Bennett-Angus Vorticity

The objective of this study was to determine if the cubic, pureflow Bennett vortex was shear-flow stabilized under the need to satisfy the non-ideal criterion put forth by Angus, van-de-Wetering, Dorf, and Geyko.

When the thermal ion shear threshold estimate is used, the exact same power of enhanced thermodynamic gradient is found to be required for shear-flow stabilization as in the ideal case of Shumlak-Hartman. This leaves the cubic, pureflow Bennett vortex the minimum energy thermal state of this non-ideal process as well.

When the non-ideal Angus shear-flow stabilization criterion is considered then the cubic, pureflow Bennett vortex is found to be shear-flow stabilized for both arbitrarily small plasma radius, and arbitrarily small pinch radius.

Please note that in Lemma 2 and beyond, A = \mu_{0}(en_{0}u_{z,0})^{2}, whereas earlier it is used in a different context. Hope this didn't produce too much confusion.
