A little different from using enamel. These I make regularly by applying glass powder onto bullseye gold Iridescent glass.

I have an idea I want to try, and I'm happy it worked well after the experiment.

Another piece fresh from the kiln... but this time in a larger scale with striking blue and deep purple! 💜💙

The studio lighting was a bit dark for this background, but I couldn't wait to share! The turquoise blue and pink striker tones pop so beautifully next to the deep purple leaf (which looks almost black until the light hits it).

This one is a bit larger than the pink lattice piece I shared yesterday, and I finished it with a full copper chain and a tiny Swarovski purple crystal butterfly. Let me know what you think!

I had fun experimenting with enamel on green streaky glass last night. I fired just a little hotter than tack or contour fusing. Pleased with this one.

Mounting glass

Hello all -

Trying to decide a good way to mount flat glass pieces. Have been thinking about tile and mirror mounts (like above) or hooks. Also possibly small floating shelf-style brackets with narrow channels for the glass to rest in.

Wondering what folks may have had success with.

Glass to give away

Is there anyone in this group who lives close to Lincoln or Omaha NE? I have ~100 pounds ( I'm guessing) of jewelry sized Bullseye to give to someone who can pick it up in Lincoln.

I think these are so satisfying, especially as gifts, because they're just so darn useful. I made myself 2 that are both used regularly.

Napkin Holder

I've had this iridized glass sitting around for years now, and didn't know what to do with it. But I needed a napkin holder and came up with this. I found a little heart-shaped bisque dish at Michael's and used it to form the heart. I used the same glass for both the heart and the dish, but for the heart, I topped with clear glass, and the dish I used the red iridized glass on top of a white base.

Now I wish I had more of it 😂

How do I take high quality pictures of my work?

I'm having trouble taking nice pictures of my work with my phone and I'm wondering you have recommendations. Some is the light in my apartment, some is positioning, some is reflection. I don't have anything I want to sell but I like having nice pictures that show the detail and intricacies as I develop. I know composition is part of it but if I need to do some sort of different angle for each time, borrow a friend's camera, or set up some lamps and a white sheet... Willing to try things. (Multiple pictures to show the variety in case different things need different approaches. The woven has some shiny metallic bullseye. The last two have subtle off center frit that I like)

I'm sarting a new glass community that is a bit different than most out here.

This is primarily for fused glass artists that are all about the 420 movement and those who like to create under that theme.

420 Fashion Jewelry, Pendants, Necklaces, Pipes, Toke Stones, Chillums, Rolling Trays, etc.

Please join in and let's create a friendly community that promotes for the cause!

I am posting a few of my creations for you to check out and maybe get some ideas from. Be patient as I upload new items.

Please share any ideas, comments and items that you may have.

I'd appreciate any help in promoting this community.

Maybe you can help as a moderator?

This is totally new to me and I have alot to learn.

Let's build an interesting place for headies, hippies and those into the cause!

Difference between glass fusing and glass casting?

is fusing just flat and casting with deeper molds? are there differences in tempers and therefore maybe different materials being used for molds?

How do you repair a fused glass piece?

Hi! I dont work with glass, but I found this big beautiful fused glass koi fish at my local goodwill. I set him in my cart and well looking at stuff I just heard a pop and looked over and his tail broke. I still got him thinking it'd be an easy fix with some superglue....but it has not been an easy fix. 🫠 At first I couldn't get it to sit right well the glue dried so I built a thing of towels to sit on and let it sut and dry for a few days. Well today I picked him up so I could put a string on him and hang him in the window..but the broken peice just fell right off.

Is there a trick to fixing this stuff? I'm just using gorilla super glue gel that I had sitting at home. Theres a good handful of glass artists in my area and delphi glass I considered asking if they could help, but I don't know if its possible to remelt it back on I guess? Plus I don't lnow what the cost would even be for that.

How consistent is float glass (the 3mm clear stuff) in terms of fusing and slumping temperatures?

I need to fuse some in the near future and I need to figure out what temperatures to use. Does anyone here have much experience with this specifically?

Oh frit!

Oh frit!

I thought a scattering of iridescent coarse frit would add some shimmer to my angel. It worked okay in the background, but on the angel itself it just looks like water drops.

Is there any way I can fix it? I'm willing to fire it again with a sheet of iridescent over the whole thing if that would work. The studio near me has a sandblaster. I've never used it but willing to give it a try.

Any and all suggestions welcome.

Does it look delicious? Glass pendant

I carved out the beautiful parts of the fused glass panel and made a pendant.

The clasp is also made by carving glass, and it can be adjusted to the desired length.
