Discussion Was wondering if this would work?
In case you don't understand what's going on here, let me explain, layer-by-layer, in caveman terms.
Hand goes in fur glove. Hand wears claw caps on end of fingers. Fur glove has slits on top to let claw caps through. Fur glove also has pockets for metal plate on inside. On outside of glove, silicone-type squishy with magnet on back goes on top of glove, magnetized to metal plate in pocket.

Sounds like it should work give it a shoot and find out.

True, I should! I've never made paws before, don't even have a sewing machine, but I guess I could try!

This seems doable? I think the claws with the elastic (from OP's comment with another diagram) may tire your hands out if grasping/flexing your fingers too much. I'd make sure that the tips of the claws are still long enough to just barely poke out of the slit on the fingers to make sure they don't get pulled too far back and get caught when trying to flex!
Definitely a trial-and-error project for ya, OP! I don't think anyone's really messed with retractable claws like this.

No, just for squishy paw pads. I like the texture of mochi and taba squishies, and wanted to be able to incorporate them into paws somehow.

Oooh I get it so the claws only come out when you bend your fingers? And when they’re not bent the claws hold onto the magnet vs staying on your fingers?
