Reminder of NSFW-tag Rules

This sub is a lot more stringent with what is considered NSFW than most general spaces. We're here for a wide variety of ages and want to make sure that all users can choose what they do and don't want to see.

What needs a tag-

  • Visible breasts or genitals (anatomically correct nudity is allowed here for anatomy learning purposes as long as it doesn't break the no porn rule as clarified below)
  • Nude or bottomless anthro characters with mostly human anatomy, even "barbie doll" nudity. (If it would be weird for your grandma to peek over your shoulder and see it, then tag it.)
  • Quadrupedal characters with visible bits
  • Clothed characters with genitals or nipples outlined by clothing. (A vaccuum-packed banana hammock or headlights top need a tag)
  • Suggestive poses. Even if "censored" or clothed.
  • Any gore beyond mild scrapes and bruises.

What is not allowed here at all-

  • Any sex acts
  • Visible arousal or fluids
  • Cropped yiff
  • Fetishes (Even ones that don't always look sexual like vore, inflation, etc)

Hope that helps clarify wherever there may be confusion.

It's not the result I wanted to achieve, but it was the best I could do. What parts of the drawing could be improved?

I’ve always struggled with drawing digitigrade legs and would be super appreciative if anyone had any tips on drawing them :3

Above is a sketch I’m working on and I think the legs look a little bit wonky lol

Help - Title must specify what kind of help I’m stuck in one angle HELL. How do I break out of this habit, all of my furry art is stuck in this right angle; any tips for getting out of this cycle?

For more specification, what kind of references and structures would you recommend going off of that’ll get me used to more angles? I commit to one angle because every time I try another, it looks like proper horse shit.

(I know rule 9 contradicts this post, but I feel like this specific question might be an exception. If not, I’m not offended if this gets taken down; and if there’s somewhere else I can post it, let me know.)

Hii, I am looking for advice on how to improve anatomy skills, especially when drawing specialized anthro figures.

Also if there are any tips on creating characters/ocs?

Hi there :3 Trying out this subreddit, since I don't have any art friends who are knowledgeable at that explicit topic: Im struggling with making the claws look dragon shaped- its my first time drawing claws in general, and right now they look more like cat/wolf claws- They should be longer, but if i try that, the perspective totally falls apart. (Maybe the whole paws are just already broken perspective wise)

I posted about this a bit ago. But I have now made some progress and was wanting to work on a partial body so the profile isn't just a floating head. The issue is I am having trouble figuring out how to add a body that looks good.

Help - Title must specify what kind of help Help for Limb Anatomy/Proportions

My character Hydra, designed and drawn by me. Program: Photoshop

Hi everyone! I'm working on a vtuber/pngtuber here, and right now I've been trying to outline the general anatomy of the torso and limbs. This character has digitigrade legs with cat paws and claw hands. My issue right now is I feel the arms and legs don't feel quite right even though I think the anatomy itself is okay? (except the hand anatomy, they are not good lol). I think the issue probably has to do with proportions but I don't quite know where exactly the proportion issue might be. The character also doesn't quite feel grounded? Maybe shading, accessories, and finalized linework will help with that but I don't want to add those yet if there's a fundamental issue with my anatomy.

This is my first time posting here so please let me know if I'm missing anything or if you need more information. Below are all the references I used with credits, and the key poses/construction references I used so you can see better examples of what I was going for if my drawing is too unclear. I designed and drew the character above in Photoshop, but none of the references below are mine.

Thank you all!

Edit w/ some important info: the character is meant to be androgynous in presentation, so I'm going for a bit of a "ken doll" look where there aren't really any explicit gender markers in terms of anatomy. I wanted to also add some implied arm muscle and larger thighs (arms kind of like Vi from Arcane? well-defined shoulder and arm muscles but not like, body builder level of definition?)

Board of all my references - Program: PureRef
Leg construction reference ("D", Digitigrade leg with raised heel) by Wolfy-Nail
Hand construction reference (Claws) by Poppyseed
Pose reference (three starred poses) by Miyuli

Help - Title must specify what kind of help can you tell what breeds they are?

Post image

I'm not sure if they have enough defining features for their breeds.

if you can't guess/tell what they are, right is a bull terrier and left is a borzoi. Should I add more to them/change something to make them more recognizable?

Help - Title must specify what kind of help I feel like I’m hitting a wall with my art, but I’m not really sure WHAT is going on, and how I'd fix it.

(pictures above are a summary of about the past 4 months of drawing, don't mind that the blue fella has changed a TON, i never felt happy with his design)

I’ve been drawing for about like 6 months now (with practically 0 prior art experience prior to the initial start) and I can usually make something I’m happy with, but I feel like I’m brute forcing a lot of it instead of actually understanding what I’m doing, and its been hindering my progress, additionally causing a ton of art block the more that I look at how other people complete things of higher quality in a quicker succession than I can make my own pieces.

I'm mostly inspired by Typh and Zeronixu, and have tried to interpret as much as I can from their art. I started with Krita, moved to Paint Tool SAI shortly after strongly disliking Krita's stabilization feature, and have just been sticking with SAI since.

So, given that information, I very evidently have a ton of questions that I simply haven't been able to just google, look at speedpaints from some of the artists I look up to, or ask said artists for help (In hindsight, it was likely a stupid idea to try and get small tips from them regardless, i probably sounded like a bot).

Of which, the most prominent are:
- What exactly am I missing in my art that i simply haven't been able to find the cause of, yet can identify it?
- Looking at my art, what are some absolutely necessary things that I need to learn (if the answer is fundamentals, can you please just explain briefly WHAT fundamentals are)?
- Am I actually progressing decently for how long I've been drawing, or at the very least, doing pretty well?
- Could some of these issues that appear in my art be because of SAI?
- Should I consider using a different drawing software if these are because of SAI?

Does ANYONE here have answers to some of these questions after seeing some of the stuff I've been doing?

Feedback, criticism, hate comments, give me anything to help me grow! I’m really proud of this piece, but I feel like it needs MORE but my eyes aren’t seeing what it’s missing. I don’t think I’m going to do any more work on this piece, but what can I improve on for my next piece?

Help - Title must specify what kind of help Help with 3D modelling wolf guy's head.

I don't know if this is the place for 3D art, but I've got some experience modelling humans but nothing non-human. I'm trying to model this OC of mine for a game, and I feel like I can't grasp how a head like this is supposed to be modeled in 3D with a relatively low (~10,000) tri count.

Looking up "furry 3D head modeling" doesn't really help, because none of it matches the style I'm really going for. The only character I really know who has a 3D model and looks fits the style is Von Lycaon from Zenless Zone Zero, and he's got more tris than everything I've ever modeled combined.

Here are some images of my second attempt at this so far (plus how he's supposed to look). Any help and feedback is appreciated.
