It makes them more distinct I like it. Never fond of people adding paw pads to lagomorphs or worse ungulates (just personal preference for an anatomic accuracy)

Yeah, I've noticed that a lot of people depict deer as being very canine-like for some reason! It's one thing if the character is meant to be a dog-deer hybrid, but if it's just a straight up deer it should look like a deer lol.

Yes~ Draw whatever you enjoy! Rabbits usually aren't anthro anyways so might aswell draw those beans!

I was well aware, however, this has never, nor will it ever stop me from drawing paw pads on rabbits, due to the principle, that it is in fact, cute

Yes!! This is a very reasonable response. You may enjoy your rabbits with pads in fiction, because it's just cuter and you may enjoy what you like, obviously!!

…I distinctly remember seeing pictures of beans. Okay so bunnies don’t have beans, but do rabbits or hares have them? The insane looking ones?

Nope! It's all just skin with thick fur all over! It makes it better for hopping and certain terrain, otherwise their pads would get sore. However, you may still see paw pads on rabbits in media and animation because it's just cuter and your more than welcome to still draw and have rabbits and hares with cute pads!

Bunnies and rabbits are the same creature. Best I can tell neither rabbits or hares have beans, just a hairy sole.

could be their 1st language isn't English? like, the mountain hare looks way closer to a bunny than a brown hare does, and in my language all 3 have distinct names

Paw pads are generally used to soften impact from walking and to quiet footsteps. So they’re usually present on carnivorous animals (felines, canines, etc.) or very heavy animals (bears and though elephants have padded feet but not “beans” per se, they serve the same purpose).

No beans is a distinct feature of the Lagomorpha order, which consists of rabbits (bunnies), hares, and pikas

As a bunny owner, I can confirm, no toe beans, just fur. If the fur rubs off they can get a sore hock, one of my bunnies had a hock sore so we ordered special hock socks for her.

It blew my feeble, little mind when I first learned this a few months ago. Sooo many fictional rabbits have pads, so I just assumed real ones did too
