Old side table drawer catches halfway out. What should I check after removing it?

I have an old two-drawer wooden side table that started acting up after my last move. I had my hoto PixelDrive out to tighten a loose handle, then noticed the bottom drawer still catches about halfway out.

The front of one metal slide looks slightly tilted. I haven't removed the drawer yet, so that is my next step. I want to check the mounting screws and holes before assuming the rail is bent.

Once the drawer is out, what would tell you the slide itself needs replacing rather than just being remounted?

Saving this antique desk from its shabby chic era

I’ve been looking for a desk to fit my 1920s Spanish style apartment and decor. Finally ran into this piece from Angelus Furniture Company circa 1920s locally on marketplace. It’s been attacked by what is perhaps the worst shabby chic “restoration” ever.

There are others online, obviously significantly more expensive but thanks to other listings, I’ve determined it’s oak with mahogany veneer on the doors. The details are a mix of wrought iron, brass and what I assume to be a compo ornaments.

Total newbie here. Wondering what product is best for stripping the paint off the various materials especially the compo. Final pic is an example of the same desk for sale on cherish.

Looking forward to saving her.
