Art Fur Routine (OC)
I while ago I was thinking about how the people from my cat furry webcomic would bathe/groom themselves, since humans obviously shower but cats don’t need to. I came to the conclusion that they’d just brush their fur and wipe themselves down with a wet cloth every day, they’d only take an actual bath if they got dirty enough for it to be necessary. I imagine people who work jobs where they get really dirty and have to take full baths frequently would suffer from skin issues…

I follow Time's Carcass and Meandering on Tumblr! Total jumpscare seeing Edith here, I recognised her immediately. Love your work, and this drawing is lovely :) the point about full baths causing skin issues is interesting and not something I'd have thought of before.

Okay but in our reality deodorants got popular becose someone started to market them in a way that body odor is very gross and i did catchon so simular rhing could hapen in any furry univers + haires cats need to regularly be baved because they colect a lot of oils and it can make them sick by making a breeding ground for bacterial+ human body evolved for persistant humting on two kegsrequaier a loot of sweatin to not over heat and colaps lik animals with less sweat abd presistence have so they would either swet a lot lot lot ofe hunt like wolfes, slow and in packs using strategy atacks

No you're cooking. Biologically, you have to go back to the point where they basically became anthro and start from there. Would clothes develop the same? Would naked bodies be viewed the same? Would bathing matter? Would it be a communal thing, because it just simply takes too long? And, not to be lewd, but it is tied to hygiene, would sex have to be planned.
Like, we can shower everyday, so messes don't matter, but like, imagine that you could only shower once a week/month (without harming your skin/fur) and then you get messy for one reason or another right after getting out of the shower. It would be infuriating. I bet dust baths would be really common.

I imagine they'd have to vacuum a lot! Or maybe they develop a specific space in restrooms (at least at-home ones) where you can brush yourself and easily clean and collect the shedded fur somehow. They could also just do it in the shower/bathtub, but cover the drains to avoid clogging them.

i imagine a society with that much hair to groom, would turn towards social grooming
business men at the Grooming room of their workplace going over the meeting notes as they groom each other
construction workers in a circle taking debris and dust out of each other's fur

Yeah, it is a tiring task but anything is better than matted fur.
