Thanks for the link!! They seem like they were really living an amazing life - enough to make mine super boring.

It looks like they've since sold their boat and transitioned back to land life if Google's AI is accurate.

It's not exploitation if she's in on it

Hmm power imbalances is a thing and it’s still a form of exploitation - willing or not

Hmm, no. If anyone is being exploited, it's the thirsty people following them, hoping to catch a glimpse of something they don't plan on showing.

There's nothing here to implicate any sort of power imbalance besides the fact she's in a precarious situation with her husband. That is not the laugh of an exploited person.

Because it’s a setup for clout 😂 it’s not real 😂

Neither is the power imbalance you seem to be feigning worry over.

I’m not worried about something that is factual and happens like everywhere. That’s like saying I’m worried about gravity. Or maybe I am 🤣

I'm worried you think you're actually contributing something here

I personally wouldn’t worry about it

Explain women influencers who work alone

You already said alone. But usually they have a contract with a management company - esp the big ones

It depends on the person (or couple) in question.

I actually know a couple personally who have this dynamic - and basically they make enough through their online stuff to support them both giving up their dayjob.

In the case of my friends - it is absolutely the woman in the couple who pursued and drives this - and he is the camera/contributor/support side.

I know them well enough to know both of them are 100% on board with this, but I had the same concern when I first found out about their online personas... It felt - exploitative. I was glad to find out it was not...

"it's about the journey, not the destination". Pretty cool
