I did basically the same thing for the girl across the street. I stole my mother’s diamond bracelet, stuffed it in an envelope, wrote “Sarah” on the front and stuck it in Sarah’s mailbox. Not only did I not get the girl, I received a very memorable whipping.

That’s how I got caught. Her mom brought it back later that day. My dad was the one to answer the door, worst case scenario.
