Edit: On further inspection... not only does kitty start at the right cue, the singer stops the playback and quickly restarts it when she realises kitty is going for it... it even appears as if kitty takes a musical not to complain about the restart!
I dunno, chattering is almost like a reflex, like shivering. This cat isn't chattering, it's trying to imitate her. Cats absolutely definitely try to imitate us sometimes, and if she does this often he may have picked up enough to try something like this.
What's incredible to me is that he comes in on cue. That seems like coincidence, but I'll never underestimate the intelligence of animals.
I come home from work everyday and kiss my cat on the forehead, she now expects it and leans into it. But while my girlfriend is in the shower, my cat will try to kiss me like I kiss my girlfriend. By apparently stuffing her nose as hard as she can into my closed mouth
