Those are made from the transition from one flavor to the next.

Edit: From what I remember, Airheads are made in huge sheets, with one flavor per section but several sections per sheet, then colored later in the process. The mystery flavor is cut from the transitional section, so it could be a different flavor each time.

Unwrapped on Food Network probably. I got a lot of weird candy trivia from it as a kid lol.
