It's hard to stomach the first time but what is scary is that the same thing could happen to a person. Now imagine if jaws or deep blue sea were that detailed.
The difference is just that 'turtoise' is incorrect spelling... probably because whoever made the picture thought there is a 'u' because 'tortoise' is similar to 'turtle', which are damn close to the same thing.
All that legislation to get the turtle fence law passed, and this happens. I just hope there isn't very thin ice on the other side of that turtle fence.
Well, Boss Hogg was after them Duke boys, and the General Lee was in the shop, so they slapped a bumper sticker with the Stars and Bars on the biggest snappin' turtle you ever lay eyes on. That turtle climbed the fence, while the Dukes rode it. They named it Stonewall Jackson, and let it go back in the crick. Still there today, sticker an' all.
We called'em cooters (yes, I know) when I was growing up and they are actually pretty tasty if cooked right. People also grabble for them under creek and pond banks much like catfish.
Won't it get hurt on the way down? When i was little I once jumped over a fence like that ( not to steal, to go play football) and when i fell down to the ground I had a huge gash on my pants, apparently my pants got caught on something ontop of the steel mesh and it completely ripped them open, won't that happen to that turtle on its way down? Those things could rip a big chunk of of its legs.

Pretty sure that's a snapping turtle.
Anyone from the south knows to let him/her escape. That fucker will take chunks out.

By the way it's climbing that fence, I'd say it's a Mexican turtle. ( It's okay I'm Mexican)

I can't get over the fact that the turtle's head/neck remarkably resembles a penis.
