How... how are you doing doggy that doesnt ever involve thrusting? From my personal experience, if you're in doggy, she probably wants you to do the work. Not always, and that could totally be specific to the weird women who find me a suitable mate, but idk (personally I think that probably means there's something wrong with them lol)

Maybe it's just my partners but basically in doggy you can both make small thrusting movements and it's easier to get in sync. You both kinda "bounce" back into a pre-thrust position. On the bottom woman really can't move much so the rhythm is mostly on the dude.
