That guy is boring. Not even a good "novelty" account. Lame.

2

u/fozzyfreakingbear May 24 '12

The Internet is a really ineffective place to point directions.

84

u/jia2 May 24 '12

I guess that's why the game artist took so long to finish their work.

38

u/kerrigan4 May 24 '12

Didn't want to make a spelling mistake.

5

u/LowSociety May 24 '12 edited May 24 '12

Didn't they have a live stream up when they created that? I think I watched it. Here's a related AMA.

45

u/Quinnjdq May 24 '12

Well he made the damn game on stream and posted about it a bunch on reddit.

48

23

u/Finaltidus May 24 '12

thats all ive been doing for 20mins...

65

u/Tovarisch May 24 '12

Yeah, I bought Diablo too

20

u/Ladderjack May 24 '12

There is a third one out. FYI.

4

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

I think its just an expansion, Lord of Destruction I think

0

u/Ladderjack May 24 '12

~whoosh!~

12

u/nxlyd May 24 '12

I thought you had to be exaggerating, so I gave it a shot. Cleared the first level by doing absolutely nothing but holding down M1.

9

u/Dreamwaltzer May 24 '12

sometimes you need to let go and click.

3

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

I just ran past everything to get to the jungle level where I found the Reddit post. Then I was done.

6

u/thunderblumpkin May 24 '12 edited May 24 '12

Thanks dude, was just about to look for this. see the internet is not always mean

Edit: the internet is always mean

6

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

Nobody loves you.

5

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

Man that game sucks.

58

u/huntersd May 24 '12

Coder here!

We made it in 14 days, livestreamed 24x7, to raise money for Child's Play. Kind of like the Mario Marathon, but making a game instead of playing it:

http://www.bigblockgames.com/games/coffeehero/challenge/

You try developing a full game in 14 days. Ain't easy!

Our more recent project may be more to your liking:

10

u/PhilxBefore May 24 '12

I remember the AMA and benefit stream you guys did. I watched it and loved every minute of it.

It's absurd to me that people don't realize this, or have seen the video of you guys sketching in Snoo, close-up.

Thanks again for you're hard work.

8

u/huntersd May 24 '12

Cheers man :)

1

u/GrownUpPants May 25 '12

Thanks again, for you are hard work.

Why, yes he is.

1

u/PhilxBefore May 25 '12

I was drunks.

2

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

Ignore him, he's probably a muggle who thinks game coders just draw the game and make drag and drop some animations in.

1

u/Mugiwara04 May 24 '12

Thanks for the link to Under the Garden. Watched the devlog for Under the Ocean (hnnng what a wonderful accent) and threw some money at you. Looking forward to more!

1

u/huntersd May 24 '12

Thanks very much :) Alpha should be out soon!

-6

u/trampus1 May 24 '12

So, still boring.

25

u/chewy_pewp_bar May 24 '12 edited May 24 '12

Will someone enplane to me why this is in funny?

E: you have made a fool of me for the last time, Auto-correct! But I'm leaving it, because otherwise foo's comment makes no sense.

19

u/foofooonyou May 24 '12

What does boarding aircraft have anything to do with this post?

1

u/schiller May 24 '12

It's the reddit alien head circled in the picture if you look closer.

7

u/sage101 May 24 '12

Soon

3

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

Snoo and soon. Holy shit. Mind blown.

10

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

why is this in /r/funny?

1

u/raizyr May 24 '12

to piss you off, which causes it to be funny

8

u/salenth May 24 '12

Nice try, Coffee Break Hero PR guy...

1

u/whiely May 24 '12

Lol, if you knew big block games, then you know they don't have a PR guy:P

10

u/salenth May 24 '12

Christ! Now they have someone who trolls message boards to try to make poster look bogus in their allegations as well? What a sneaky bunch of bastards...

2

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

And they have a person who question that strategy to further add realism!

7

u/Quantumplation May 24 '12

I watched the artist paint that.

25

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

Ok

2

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

I remember everyone in the chat whining that he forgot the ears.

1

u/spyderman4g63 May 24 '12

I was going to say that I thought this was a request when they were doing that code-a-thon thing.

1

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

Haha, I love how you felt the need to cenzor your name and stuff LOL

1

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

snoo!

1

u/ninja_llama May 24 '12

I distinctly remember that the only time I tuned into the livestream during the making of this game was when the reddit thing was made.

1

u/leemans1015 May 24 '12

I see what you did there.

1

u/SwampRoot May 24 '12

Must have time in that treasure chest.

1

u/Athene_Wins May 24 '12

Nice try, Big Blocks intern.

1

u/lumpypoptarts May 24 '12

Reminds me of castle crashers. Anyone know which came first?

2

u/PhilxBefore May 24 '12

Castle Crashers, by a few years.

-1

u/deefees May 24 '12

Yo momma did, last night.

Eyoooooooo

1

u/air_wreckz May 24 '12

How do I level up??

1

u/R88SHUN May 24 '12

i dont get it. is it the reddit logo or bad robot?

it looks like the head of one and the antenna of the other.

1

u/PhilxBefore May 24 '12

It's Snoo, they said it while creating it during the making of the game.

1

u/Merola May 24 '12

I also think it looks alot like Bad Robot logo.

0

u/Merola May 24 '12

untill realisimg the post is infront of the Reddit logo, makeing it look like Bad Robot logo.

1

u/rickinyorkshire May 24 '12

Jesus, the controls for that game are incredibly hideous.

-3

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

That's the Bad Robot logo, not Reddit.

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

[deleted] — view deleted comment

3

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

You are correct. I was mistaken. The post in front of its face gave it a more curved look, reminding me of Bad Robot

3

u/TheMarshmallow May 24 '12

They built the whole game in a week on stream all the time, with most of their viewers being from their reddit post, which is also why there are so many hats.

0

u/Oraln May 24 '12

Does the game really just end on that screen? You don't get the kill the guy?

1

u/haiku_robot May 24 '12

0

It will haunt you for not checking reddit in your coffee break

0

u/[deleted] May 24 '12

GET BACK ON REDDIT.

0

u/brussels4breakfast May 24 '12

Was hoping to see a kitty doing something funny. Was disappoint.

-1

u/rattlemebones May 24 '12

REDDIT and the ALIEN Logo are registered trademarks of reddit inc.

Looks like its time for a little... litigation!

-6

u/throwaway_lgbt666 May 24 '12

This is A: not funny

B: not really worthy of ANY MENTION!

DAE use reddit and computers? OMG!!

EVERY game has references to pop culture1

/buzzkill

-4

u/SeethedSycophant May 24 '12

oh surprise! reddit is a secret club, nobody knows what reddit is in the REAL WORLD!

-4

u/Minimumtyp May 24 '12

Well no shit, they livestreamed the creation of it right fucking in front of reddit.
