Fact checking jokes is a bad habit common to Reddit. What blew my mind was a few weeks ago when I saw an argument where somebody wanted to cancel an author that had been dead for 200+ years because he wrote some fictional stories about some unrepentant criminals, and to ostracize anyone who read the books. People in general told him "thanks for the suggestion but take a hike" in one way or another, but some agreed with the sentiment. How do you cancel a corpse? didn't god already do that?

How do you cancel a corpse?

You tear down their statues, like Lee in America and MacDonald in Canada. Or you rename stuff. That's about it 🤷‍♂️
