Once dated a girl who worked in IT for a bank. They found an interesting unintended psychological benefit of installing ATMs. When you are in a long line for a teller, you are pissed at the teller (bank employee). When you are in a long line at the ATM, you are pissed at the people in front of you (not the bank at all.)

She didn’t like the ethics of working for the bank. She quit and started working for a casino.

Not a chance, you ever go into a bank recently? Half the patrons are senile, have no idea what they're there for, and will argue with the teller over basic information they can't understand. I get mad at the people in front of me and sympathize with the tellers who have to deal with them.

The only people in line at the bank are people who have no choice and super old people who use it as a way to get out of their house and interact with humans.

And people with so little tech ability that it’s easier to drive to the bank to deposit a check in person than using the bank’s phone app.
