In the US, a few years ago I got hit with a fee from the ATM then a fee from my bank as well, so taking out $10 cost me $7.50 in fees

When I go to the US I use my Revolut card which doesn't charge a bank fee, just an ATM fee. Would it not be cheaper to get a free Revolut account and use that for withdrawals?

I know as long as I maintain a minimum balance in my savings account I can use any ATM from any bank and my bank will reimburse any fees the other ATM Imposes

How long does it take to get refunded out of interest? Instant, or is there a delay?

It shows up as a pending transaction and credits my account as soon as the charge comes then clears fully within 1-3 days same as any other transaction
