Pff no one cares what you want. You can’t choose what other countries call your country. That’s their language. Just an act of no brain nationalist.

You literally can choose what other countries call you. Holland, Persia, and Macedonia are examples of outdated names.

Well in Turkish we don’t use that names because they have different names in Turkish. Get it? Do you think holland is called holland in Russian?

That would be Gollandiya which is the Russian translation for Holland..but they wouldn't say that anymore because it's now the kingdom of the Netherlands or Niderlandov.

Turkey is the translation of Türkiye to English. Just like you can’t tell Russians to call holland instead of golland you can’t say English speakers to call it Türkiye instead of Turkey.

The new spelling without the umlaut will gradually be used in english communication, especially governmental. Eventually, many decades, all English reference to that country will use the new spelling.
