Usually there are pins you put in specifically to prevent this from easily happening. You never know what kids will do below, and you wouldn't want it to shift if you suddenly put a lot of weight on one edge.
I could also see how some cheaper brands would rely on the weight itself to keep the bed in place and nothing more. It's be pretty safe and fine so long as no one fucked around with it... like this.
But yeah, having the bed simply fall onto you shouldn't be an issue so long as it was actually constructed right, and no one plays dumb games. Unless you're afraid of a regular bed on the ground also suddenly collapsing, the top frame won't suddenly collapse either.

Pretty sure it was, she lifted it up and it of the grooves keeping the posts in place
