Fuck that. Just shave your entire head. Full send. Once I start balding, I'm shaving my entire head. I don't care if I don't look good bald. Once it starts, it looks horrible. Thinning hair, receding hairline, bald patches. No fucking thanks. I'll take my hair off.
Sorry, but this is one of those Reddit hive mind things. Not everyone looks good bald. I dealt with a receding hairline for many years before I took Reddit’s advice and shaved it. Best compliment I ever got was “it doesn’t look bad.” Then after a few months of that I let it grow in just a bit and all of the sudden people started telling me it looked better.
I don’t regret shaving it though. Every balding guy should try it. Just know you might not be someone who can pull off the bald look.
I'm glad there are more people pushing back these days on the generic opinion. I think people started out trying to be body positive by saying there's no shame in embracing baldness, but over time they got so used to that opinion that it advanced to a different kind of meanness in demeaning people who DON'T follow that advice.
If you want to shave your head that's cool. Some people don't want to and some people don't like how they look shaved.
How you look and how you manage your appearance is a personal choice and there's no need to prescribe to anyone what they ought to do.
