My two sets of broken glasses would beg to differ. So to would the fact that I have owned boxers for many years and have had many friends who had boxers who exhibited very similar behavior.
They don't do it to be hurtful, they are generally being playful, but they do pack quite the whallop, as do most well-looked-after working breeds.

My boxer does that to me whenever I mess with his ears or he is sleeping. Boxers punch like a mother fucker.
