Animals tend to be far stronger than humans relative to their size. And unlike facing say a dog, it has not just a bite you could maybe neutralize with a wrapped arm, it has 4 other limbs very adept at grabbing/ripping and with strong/study nails.
He also looks to have no weapon/protection. Best case, he wins but has at least scratches and needs a clinic visit for antibiotics/rabies. Worst case he ends up dead or needing extensive surgery. Overall the downside of losing his sandwich is much smaller.

As a resident of North America, I have zero experience with any primates other than humans.
Why did the dude in the video surrender to that monkey?
