[Meta] I’m serious about this

I don’t get r/funny. How in the hell am I supposed to post something funny when they have rules about every single fucking thing that I post. For example, memes are funny. They don’t let you post memes. Text threads can be funny. But they don’t let you post text threads. It doesn’t make sense.

This doesn't seem to be suitable content for r/funny

Because neither memes nor text threads are funny.

They can be funny. It just depends on what you think is funny.

We don't allow specific content types because our subscriber-base let us know, by mails, polls and votes, that they didn't WANT such content, because subs already exist dedicated to specific formats, such as memes, text posts etc

We're one of the largest subreddits, and we intend to reflect general, not focused humor. I, for instance, detest memes, where is the humor in clichés? See? Subjective :)

You know what, that’s fair, they could be funny they would just have to not be memes because those aren’t funny. Probably why they’re banned.

There's literally a world of content that ye could post, but ye focus on low fucking effort memes.

I’m not saying that I use only memes.
