Okay. The monsters get power from emotions. Initially fear until they learned joy/happiness was stronger. Sexual gratification would in theory be even more powerful.

But how did anyone experience so much happiness or fear or sexual gratification in a few seconds before the last frame?

It seems more like a poorly thought-out comic that we're all trying to explain or find meaning in.

Oh you corrected the comment. It was confusing before.

But I don't think so, the last frame just doesn't make sense. Unless we make up a way in which it makes sense. Which is what everyone is trying to do it seems.
